Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg

Science and Technology

Ein nod yw perthnasu gweithgareddau Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg i brofiadau’r disgyblion lle bynnag y bo modd ac annog chwilfrydedd i ddatblygu syniadau’n annibynnol. Cyflwynir y disgyblion i ystod o ddibenion gwyddonol a thechnolegol gan ddefnyddio amrywiaeth o sgiliau gwyddonol sy'n berthnasol i brofiadau bob dydd. Rydym yn sicrhau bod Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg wedi’u gwreiddio mewn gweithgareddau ymarferol i hybu sgiliau a dysgu. Mae'r ysgol wedi ymrwymo i ddatblygu Technoleg Gwybodaeth ar draws pob oedran, mae'n treiddio i bob maes o'r cwricwlwm ac yn datblygu'n gyson.  Sicrhawn fod y defnydd o TGCh yn datblygu sgiliau datrys problemau’r disgybl ac yn hybu dulliau unigol a chydweithredol o ddysgu.  Mae gan bob ystafell ddosbarth gyfrifiaduron personol wedi'u rhwydweithio, a mynediad at liniaduron, llyfrau crôm, byrddau gwyn rhyngweithiol ac iPads yn ogystal â thechnolegau cyfredol eraill i hybu eu dysgu.  O fewn Dylunio a Thechnoleg mae disgyblion yn cael y cyfle i wneud penderfyniadau ynglŷn â sut maen nhw'n trefnu eu gwaith, sut maen nhw'n dewis yr offer cywir, sut maen nhw'n penderfynu cwblhau tasg ac yn olaf sut maen nhw'n gwerthuso'r prosiect gorffenedig. Trwy’r meysydd amrywiol a archwiliwyd, bydd disgyblion yn cyfuno eu sgiliau a’u dealltwriaeth i gyflawni eu llawn botensial.

Our aim is to relate Science and Technology activities to the pupil’s experiences wherever possible and to encourage curiosity to develop ideas independently. Pupils are introduced to a range of scientific and technological purposes using a variety of scientific skills which is relevant to everyday experiences. We ensure Science and Technology is rooted in practical activities to promote skills and learning. The school is committed to developing Information Technology throughout all age groups, it permeates all areas of the curriculum and is constantly evolving. We ensure the use of IT develops the pupil’s problem-solving skills and promotes individual and collaborative approaches to learning. Every classroom has networked personal computers, and has access to laptops, chrome books, interactive white boards and iPads as well as other current technologies to further their learning. Within Design and Technology pupils are given the opportunity to make decisions about how they organise their work, how they select the right tools and equipment, how they decide to complete a task and finally how they evaluate the completed project. Through the various areas explored, pupils will combine their skills and understanding to achieve their full potential.

Gwyddoniaeth

Science

Mae’r elfen Gwyddoniaeth ym Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg yn rhoi cyfle i ddysgwyr archwilio a deall y byd drwy lens bioleg, cemeg a ffiseg. Mewn bioleg, mae disgyblion yn ymchwilio i fodau byw, eu cynefinoedd, cylchoedd bywyd a’r corff dynol. Mewn cemeg, maent yn archwilio deunyddiau, eu priodweddau a sut maent yn newid drwy gymysgu, gwresogi ac oeri. Mewn ffiseg, cyflwynir cysyniadau megis grymoedd, golau, sain, trydan a symudiad gwrthrychau. Mae ymholi gwyddonol wrth galon y dysgu, gyda disgyblion yn cael eu hannog i ofyn cwestiynau, cynnal ymchwiliadau ac adeiladu casgliadau ar sail tystiolaeth. Mae’r profiadau hyn yn ymarferol, yn ymgysylltu ac yn aml yn gysylltiedig â chyd-destunau bywyd go iawn, gan helpu dysgwyr i ddatblygu chwilfrydedd, meddwl beirniadol a dealltwriaeth ddyfnach o’r byd naturiol.

The Science element of the Science and Technology Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) provides learners with the opportunity to explore and understand the world through the lenses of biology, chemistry, and physics. In biology, pupils investigate living things, their habitats, life cycles, and the human body. In chemistry, they explore materials, their properties, and how they change through mixing, heating, and cooling. In physics, learners are introduced to forces, light, sound, electricity, and the movement of objects. Scientific enquiry is at the heart of learning, with pupils encouraged to ask questions, carry out investigations, and draw conclusions based on evidence. These experiences are practical, engaging, and often linked to real-life contexts, helping learners to develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Dylunio a Thechnoleg

Design and Technology

Mae’r elfen Dylunio a Thechnoleg ym Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg yn annog dysgwyr i ddod yn ddatryswyr problemau creadigol sy’n gallu dylunio, creu a gwerthuso cynhyrchion pwrpasol. Mae disgyblion yn archwilio’r broses ddylunio drwy brosiectau ymarferol sy’n cynnwys cynllunio, adeiladu, profi a mireinio eu syniadau gan ddefnyddio amrywiaeth o ddeunyddiau ac offer. Maent yn dysgu am strwythurau, mecanweithiau, tecstilau, technoleg bwyd a systemau digidol, gan ddatblygu sgiliau ymarferol a meddyliol. Mae cynaliadwyedd, arloesedd ac anghenion defnyddwyr yn themâu allweddol, gan helpu dysgwyr i ystyried effaith eu dyluniadau ar bobl a’r amgylchedd. Mae’r profiadau hyn yn aml yn gysylltiedig â chyd-destunau bywyd go iawn ac ag ardaloedd dysgu eraill, megis defnyddio mathemateg ar gyfer mesur, gwyddoniaeth i ddeall deunyddiau, a llythrennedd i gyflwyno syniadau, gan wneud y dysgu’n ystyrlon ac yn gysylltiedig.

The Design and Technology element of the Science and Technology Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) encourages learners to become creative problem-solvers who can design, make, and evaluate purposeful products. Pupils explore the design process through hands-on projects that involve planning, building, testing, and refining their ideas using a range of materials and tools. They learn about structures, mechanisms, textiles, food technology, and digital systems, developing both practical and thinking skills. Sustainability, innovation, and user needs are key themes, helping learners to consider the impact of their designs on people and the environment. These experiences are often linked to real-life contexts and other areas of learning, such as using maths for measuring, science for understanding materials, and literacy for presenting ideas, making learning meaningful and connected.

TGCh

ICT

Mae elfen TGCh Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg yn arfogi dysgwyr â’r sgiliau digidol sydd eu hangen arnynt i lwyddo mewn byd cynyddol dechnolegol. Mae disgyblion yn defnyddio amrywiaeth o offer a llwyfannau digidol i gyfathrebu, creu, ymchwilio a datrys problemau ar draws y cwricwlwm. Maent yn dysgu am ddiogelwch ar-lein, trin data, codio, a sut mae technoleg yn effeithio ar eu bywydau a’r byd ehangach. Mae’r Fframwaith Cymhwysedd Digidol (DCF) yn sail i’r dysgu hwn, gan sicrhau cynnydd mewn meysydd allweddol megis dinasyddiaeth, rhyngweithio a chydweithio, cynhyrchu, a meddwl cyfrifiadol a data. Mae TGCh wedi’i wreiddio ar draws pob maes dysgu, gan helpu disgyblion i ddod yn ddinasyddion digidol hyderus, cyfrifol a chreadigol.
